Irish Oatmeal Soda Bread

How nice would it be to have freshly baked bread in your house? The smell, the warmth. Is there anything better than a soft piece of fresh bread served warm with melted butter? My mouth is watering just thinking about it. But the very idea of making bread feels completely daunting. Kneading the dough? Letting the yeast rise? No thank you.

Enter Irish Soda Bread. This is a bread that asks so little of you and gives so much in return. There’s no yeast required. It’s easy. It’s quick. It’s freaking delicious. Trust me, if I can make this bread, you can make this bread. And you won’t be disappointed. The crust is so crispy. The dough is moist and soft. It’s fantastic for breakfast, but we also served it for dinner along with a salad. I even made a turkey sandwich for lunch one day and put it on this bread. Whatever, whatever, I do what I like.

The full recipe is here. Marvel at how easy this is and then go forth and feel like a superior human being because you can bake your own bread.
